Turmeric, (Curcuma longa Linn. syn. Curcuma domestica Val.), is one of the native herbs and medicine of the Southeast Asian region. The plant then spread to Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and even Africa. Almost every Indonesian and Indian and Asian nation has generally consumed this spice plant, either as a complement to the spices of cuisine, herbal medicine or to maintain health and beauty. Turmeric belongs to the ginger group, Zingiberaceae. Turmeric is known in various regions with several local names, such as turmeric (English), curcuma (Netherlands), Kunyit (Indonesia and Malaysia).
Turmeric is also used as an anti-itch, anti-septic and anti-seizure drug as well as reducing swelling of the mucous membranes of the mouth. Turmeric is consumed in a form of squeeze called filtrate, also taken as an extract or used as an ointment to treat swelling and sprains. Turmeric is also efficacious to cure nasal congestion, how to burn turmeric and inhale it.

Turmeric also contains fat as much as 1 -3%, carbohydrates as much as 3%, protein 30%, starch 8%, Vitamin C 45-55%, and mineral salts, zinc, phosphorus, and calcium.
